Of course, we can't forget Glenn Gould. No one has ever played Bach the way this pianist does! A tremendous talent, an impeccable knowledge of his craft.
When Gould plays Bach, it's like he's talking to him. Gould devoted his whole life to the study of Bach.
I have in my phone a recording of Bach's f - moll concerto performed by Gould and Richter. When I was still studying at the conservatory, I was proving to everyone that Richter played Bach better than Gould. Now I realize how wrong I was:)
When my youngest son was a year and a half old, I put this recording on my phone for him. Recently my son turned three years old, and he does not think of parting with this recording.
P. S. I am re-reading this short article after almost 10 years. My youngest son is now 12. He is seriously interested in soccer.
Of course, I taught Nikita to play the piano for general development. And what piece do you think we picked up when my son was 8 years old?)
The work went on, and in a few months we learned half of the first movement of the F minor concerto.
But then Nikita didn't show much interest in the piano, and I didn't insist. So, during the last four years, he occasionally sits down at the piano (once a month) and enjoys playing the beginning of the first movement.
P. P. S. I think, sooner or later, we will gather our strength and learn at least the first part with Nikita.
It turns out to be something like with Bach's F minor concerto in life:)
