About this song (a small personal story)
This song is dedicated to the capital of Ukraine — the beautiful city of Kyiv.
It was extremely popular in the late 20th century, and even today you can still hear it sometimes in the Kyiv metro, especially when you ride the escalator up (Kyiv has very deep metro stations).
This melody always warms my heart.
I remember coming to Kyiv with my parents when I was a child — and this song was playing in many places.
It is a song about love… and about how wonderful Kyiv truly is.
