On September 14, 2025, a piano concert took place at Saint Birgitta’s Chapel in Gothenburg with pianist Volodymyr Slakva.
During the concert, the complete set of Frédéric Chopin’s Etudes was performed — a unified program including both Opus 10 and Opus 25. Performing this entire collection in a single concert represents a significant artistic and technical challenge and is considered one of the most demanding tasks in the piano repertoire.
Chopin’s etudes combine virtuoso technique with deep musical expression and encompass a wide spectrum of characters, from lyrical intimacy to dramatic intensity. In the intimate and calm atmosphere of Saint Birgitta’s Chapel, a focused listening environment was created, allowing the audience to follow the development of the works as a coherent musical journey.
The concert offered a deeper encounter with Chopin’s piano music and gave the audience the opportunity to experience the etudes not merely as technical studies, but as complete artistic works performed in their entirety.
